D-Link Hires Industry Veterans To Head Expanding Field Marketing Program

D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumers and business, today added two more senior marketing executives to its expanding field marketing program in support of the company's award-winning channel sales efforts.

The newest members of the D-Link team are Betsy Roddy, as director of field marketing, and Terry West, as field marketing program manager for the solutions channel, who combined have more than 30 years of experience in selling and marketing technology products through the channel.

In her new position, Roddy will oversee the development and implementation of all marketing plans designed to help D-Link's vast network of channel partners, including value-added resellers (VARs), solution providers (SPs), distributors, etail and retail outlets, become more profitable through unique and competitive programs that promote D-Link as the best competitive value for quality and cost-effective computer networking solutions.

Roddy's prior experience includes more than six years as director of Internet and channel marketing for ViewSonic Corporation, an international leader in computer and commercial display equipment, where she was responsible for all channel programs, promotions, communications and creative development in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. She spent another seven years with a national advertising agency, where she managed key client relationships, senior-level communications and advertising campaigns for Symantec, Fujitsu and Websense and other major firms. Her experience also includes work with Logitech, Philips, Merisel and others.

"We are proud to have Betsy on board to lead our channel marketing team," said Nick Tidd, vice president of sales for D-Link Pan America and vice president of marketing for D-Link North America. "Her extensive experience and proven success driving channel marketing and programs for so many well-known brands are a great testament to her reputation for developing people, working collaboratively across departments and delivering results."

Roddy holds a Master of Business Administration degree in International Business from Webster University in Vienna, Austria and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a business minor from Pennsylvania State University.

As field marketing program manager, West will ensure D-Link partner programs are the most competitive in the industry while improving communication and training with D-Link channel partners to make it easier for them to sell, promote and deliver D-Link connectivity solutions to their customers.

Most recently an industry consultant, West has held long-term management positions with Lucent Technologies, Compaq, Sony and Symantec where she established and managed sales teams and developed and executed channel strategy for the IT marketplace.

"Terry's leadership abilities, her impressive track record and her true understanding of channel marketing, evidenced by her accomplishments wherever she has served, will contribute greatly to helping us reach our goal to elevate our growing field marketing program to the best in the industry," said Tidd in announcing the latest additions to the D-Link team.

West attended the University of Alberta and holds numerous sales, management and industry certifications.

"Adding Betsy and Terry is yet another sign of D-Link's investment and commitment to the channel and strengthening its presence in the SMB and growing enterprise space," Tidd added.

Further evidence of D-Link's market leadership and reputation as one of the world's largest vendors of computer networking solutions is found in the latest 2009 Channel Contenders survey sponsored by Computer Reseller News (CRN). D-Link was voted the top contender in both the data and wireless networking categories in the survey in which hundreds of channel participants, including value-added resellers, solution providers, system integrators, distributors and customers, were polled to provide insight into which product vendors are best positioned for success during the economic downturn and beyond.
