FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., March 4, 2009 — Keith A. Karlsen of San Clemente, Calif. and executive vice president of D-Link Systems Inc., the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumers and business, has again been named one of the country's top "Channel Chiefs" by Computer Reseller News, a leading industry publication serving the information technology (IT) sales community.
According to the publication's editors who judge the annual competition, a channel chief is a company executive who helps establish the business agenda for his organization and enables its channel partners to achieve mutual success.
They acknowledged Karlsen for "going above and beyond to ensure that D-Link® partners have the support, tools, training and technology necessary to service their customers and grow their businesses."
"While I am honored to be in the same company with other outstanding channel leaders, I am especially proud of the D-Link team and our thousands of channel partners who are focused on achieving mutual success by expanding revenue potential," Karlsen said. "Especially in these difficult economic times, we believe D-Link is the ideal networking company to partner with because of our long-standing strategy of being highly competitive with end-to-end infrastructure solutions that are affordable, reliable and fully supported.
"We also continue to introduce very aggressive promotions and programs aimed specifically at making our channel partners better equipped to compete in the field." added Karlsen.
Since joining D-Link in 2002, Karlsen has led D-Link's successful penetration into new markets, such as government, education and hospitality, and has orchestrated the company's channel expansion by recruiting an experienced team of solution providers, distributors and in-house sales and support staffs, and by implementing innovative and competitive sales incentive programs.
It is the third straight year that Karlsen has been honored as channel chief. Last year he was named one of the top 25 channel executives by CRN's sister publication, VARBusiness.
With more than 25 years of experience in the computer industry, Karlsen's previous executive positions include director of business development and strategy for Gateway, Inc. and assistant vice president of business development for NCR.
